Nepal government partners add strength to PM Bhattarai: Media

The coalition government partners, Unified Maoists Party and Unified Democratic Madhesi Alliance have agreed to give continuity to the present government led by Baburam and possibly to provide it a national shape as well.

A meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluatar, February 12, 2012 where the leaders representing the Madhesi alliance and the Unified Maoists Party were present. The leaders representing Unified Maoists Party (Bhattarai panel) only participated at the meet.

The chairperson of Madhesi Janadhikar Form (MJF) -Ganatantrik Jayprakash Prasad Gupta who is currently country’s minister for information and communication informed the media after the meeting that the coalition partners have decided to provide continuity to the present government.

“We have closely scrutinized performance of the present government during the meeting and accepted that there is the need for greater coordination between the government partners in order to concentrate the focus on constitution drafting process,”

Present during the meeting were Chairman Pushpa Kamal and party vice chairman Baburam of Unified Maoists and representing the Madhesi alliance were MJF-Loktantrik Chairman Bijaya Gacchedhar, chairperson of Madhesi Janaadhikar Form (MJF) -Ganatantrik Jayprakash Prasad Gupta, Chairperson of Sadvawana Party Rajendra Mahato, Chairman Mahanta Thakur of Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik (TMLP) and Chairman Mahendra Yadav of TMLP-Nepal.
