CA Speaker main man behind NSP fresh split: Nepal Minister Mahato

Perhaps he is alone in the party but yet he is the Chairman.

A Himalayan tragedy was in the making back in Kathmandu when Rajendra Mahato, the Chairman of the Nepal Sadbhavana Party was receiving the blessings from the Indian deities in New Delhi.

He has just returned from India.

When enough had been enough, some two central committee members of Mahato’s party, Ram Naresh Roy Choudhary and Gauri Mahato, preferred to abandon Rajendra babu in the lurch and formed yet another party.

The NSP has the distinction in absorbing the split shocks.

Only recently, Anil Kumar Jha had abandoned Rajendra mahato. Jha is a minister now in Bhattarai’s cabinet.

Says Rajendra Mahato, the Minister of Health in Bhattarai’s cabinet that the Speaker of the Constituent Assembly body, Subash Nembang, was responsible for bringing about the fresh split in his party.

A frustrated Mahato then also put the split-blame onto the heads of some party’s stalwarts like Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani of the RJP and also on a few newly formed Madhesh based parties.

Those who brought about this NSP split claim that Rajendra Mahato was engaged in amassing wealth in the name of the party and favoured nepotism.

“The one who benefited from Rajendra Mahato by being in the party was none less than his own brother-in-law-Upendra Mahato”, alleged the ones who have formed now a separate Madhesi party.

Rajendra Mahato has warned the CA Speaker and Dr. Lohani not to repeat such blunders in the future as it may boomerang on them time permitting.

"Don't play foul with Madhesi politics", an infuriated Mahato said.
